A moment I don't want to forget. If you've ever been to my house, you know my guest bathroom is covered in artwork, photos, postcards, stickers, etc. If I like it, it gets tacked up on the wall. My nephews, Robin and Charlie stayed with us for a full glorious week.
The most disturbing thing to me in the aftermath of the Insurrection on Wednesday is the number of my family and friends who would have been 100% ok if it had succeeded. An election was held, and because people don't like the results - which have been verified over and over again - they think it's ok to topple a democracy that generations of people have bled for and built.
Go easy on yourself. You're not going to 'do' the coronavirus perfectly. In fact, there is no way to 'do' the coronavirus perfectly. You're going to freak out, feel scared, get angry, be bored, obsess, waste time... You're a human being under an incredible amount of stress.
Mother's Day. Gosh, so many beautiful mothers to celebrate. And, it can be a tough day for some as well. Maybe you wanted to be a mother, but it just didn't happen for you. Maybe, like me, your body carried many babies for a while, but for whatever reason wasn't able to sustain life for long enough.
Why can men's bodies be funny AND sexy, strong AND goofy, flabby AND endearing? It's that AND that I'm most interested in. How can we as a culture add some more AND to our perceptions of women's bodies?
